It seems amazing that something as complex as a boat has relatively little documentation. Ping came equipped with only three manuals, Pearson 323 Manual, Walter V-drive Manual and Volvo Instruction Book. Pearson 323 Supplemental Information: 1980 (1.0MB) These are design drawings that were not in the 1978 manual, but were added in a later version. File contains the drawings only.
Pearson 323 Parts List: 1978 (61KB) - You can't order anything from Pearson anymore, but the list does provide insight into the specifications of some of the component parts and the composition of the sub-assemblies. Prices listed are pretty funny looking now.
Walter V-drive Manual: 1978 (624KB) - Multiple models are covered in the document. The model installed in the 323 is the RV-10D.
Volvo Instruction Book 1976 (1.5MB) - This applies to engine models MD11C, D and MD17C, D. Please note that this document was scanned and OCRed (optical character recognition) to keep the file size down. OCR cannot identify all fonts and characters with 100% reliability. It also doesn't know what to do with dirt and other marks it finds on a piece of paper. Given that, some of the text may not have been converted correctly. Be careful with the technical information and data in tables. It may not be completely accurate.
Volvo Installation Instructions: 1999 (115KB) - This document makes reference only to the "D" series engines but I think there's enough similarity with the MD11C to make it helpful
