Helm Seat
Here’s an aft cockpit seat
that does not require drilling any holes into the boat. I made mine from a scrap of clear Douglas fir
stair tread that is about 1 1/8 inch thick.
I routed out a drip edge on the bottom to keep any water from flowing
along the bottom surface. Then after 4
coats of varnish I applied a piece of Treadmaster to
the seat area. The seat is held in place
by the rail supports and a couple of plastic clamps that I made from scrap that
I got from a sign shop.
